| The
church renovations are progressing well and we are excited to use the
hall for meetings etc. This is how the front of the building looks today:

It was 2004 when we started on this journey, the old building
looked like this:

The alarm clock
sounds bright and early:
stumble out of bed and into the shower, Feed the cat, switch the kettle
on and scrape the burned toast.
Race for the bus or train which rarely run to schedule or battle the unpredictable
traffic.
Either way it is highly likely that your stress level will be on the rise
even before arriving at work. Meetings … appointment … deadlines
… reports … emails … phone calls … interruptions
… … …
Does this sound like an average day?
Does your mind
try to escape, to wander occasionally?
Maybe to thoughts of retirement with lots of time for walking and fishing
and….
but that could be a loooooong way away. What about an extended holiday
on some tropical paradise ….
Just dreaming again … and there is no time for daydreams.
Yet, there is a place where our mind can go… … …
… … … a place where our mind can wander and bring us
through these high stress days of our modern culture
A place that will bring some real benefit, in fact it is good to train
our minds to wander there often.
There is somewhere
that our mind can stay in perfect peace,
ONLY LOSERS
NEED GOD!
Who is a loser?
The farm of a rich man produced a terrific crop and he
said to himself, “I'll tear down my barns and build bigger ones.
Then I'll gather in all my grain and goods, and I'll say to myself, you've
done well! You've got it made and can now retire. Take it easy and have
the time of your life!'
Just then God showed up and said, 'Fool! Tonight you
will die. And your barn full of goods - who gets it?'
Who is a winner?
By what we see of the lives of the rich and famous it
would seem that fame and fortune are not to be trusted, and prosperity
cannot be an end in itself, for this life is only temporary.
So surely it is those who find eternal life that are the winners.
Jesus said, “I have come that you might have life,
and life more abundantly.”
